Finishing First and Second

The college’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers student chapter has been named the second best Hispanic Chapter. Georgia Tech received top honors. The honors were announced at a conference in Philadelphia.

Former UCF Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers President Nicolas Zamora won the Pedro Ortiz Student Leadership Award.

At the conference our chapter also participated in the conference's Knowledge Bowl competition, a brain bowl type of competition where students are asked math, physics and engineering questions. The Chapter captured in 2nd place out of more than 50 schools which included MIT, Cornell, Penn State.

In addition several UCF students were offered positions at GE, Siemens, United Technologies, GM and other companies.
